Hello my name is Sophie. I go to Pittsburgh's Obama Academy of International Studies (Pennsylvania) and I’m 11 years old. I have decided to do “Electronic’s for Autism” as my Bat Mitzvah Project. A Bat Mitzvah is an important life-cycle event when a young 13 year old girl becomes an adult in the Jewish religion. My project goal is to be able to donate a minimum of 18 (“chai” the Jewish number of “life”) I-pad and/or Nintendo 3DS/3DS XL devices, and give them to children with autism. I chose this because my cousin Marla has autism and I see that she uses her I-pad in everyday life in many different ways. I intend to distribute these I-pads to children in both the United States and Israel.
My goal throughout this project is to help improve the life of kids with autism. My effort to help “change the world” and make a difference.
